OTHER SKILLS Music and Song-writing

I have studied music privately and diligently since the age of 4. Proficient in cello and piano and also a singer, I have worked as a private piano and cello instructor for beginning students in my own home off and on since 1991. I have at many points maintained between four and five students between the ages of seven and fourteen. Many of my students went on to study music at institutions such as the School for Performing Arts at Roosevelt University in Chicago and Eastman School of Music and have pursued careers in music performance.

In 1999, I added guitar to my repertoire of instruments, and since moving to New York City in 2001 have further added electric bass. For three years I performed, recorded and wrote songs for soul/R&B/punk group, The Demands, appearing on vocals, organ, piano and keyboards on one album, "Play for You" (Deep Eddy Records) and four variety compilations which featured several of my songs. From 2002-2005 I played shows throughout New York City, New Jersey, Las Vegas, NV and Massachusetts.
